Import Export Code Registration in India

Importer Exporter Code. Import Export (IE) Code is a 10 digit code which is required for persons importing or exporting goods and services from India. IE Code is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India.

 

♦ Import Export Code Registration in India

Importer Exporter Code (IEC) can be taken by registered entity like Pvt. Ltd., LLP and by non-registered also like individuals etc. IEC once issued is valid for lifetime and renewal is not required, therefore it is suggested to take this license in advance in case entity is willing to have export/import in future.

No renewal is required during lifetime.

It is valid throughout country, it is not state or branch specific.

Person exporting or importing goods for personal use than IEC code is not required.

Persons exporting or importing goods to/from Nepal or Myanmar through Indo-Myanmar border areas, a value of which does not exceed Rs.25,000/- in a single assignment. Doesn’t require IE Code.

No Taxes need to be paid for IEC.

Documents Required for Import Export Code Registration

 

PAN card of business entity

List of partners or directors in case of partnership firm/Limited Liability Partnership firm or Company respectively along with their residential address, ID proof, passport size photograph and PAN card

Bank Account statement

Articles of Association (“AOA”) and Memorandum of Association (“MOA”) in the case of company or LLP agreement in the case of LLP or Partnership Deed in the case of Partnership firm

Certificate from banker as per the format is given in Appendix 18A

DSC of Director/Promoter/Individual and in case DSC is not there we can make same
