A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a secure digital key that certifies the identity of the holder, issued by a Certifying Authority (CA). It typically contains your identity (name, email, country, APNIC, account name and your public key).

♦ DSC Registration

DSC is the electric format of a physical signature which was done through pen. It is used to validate files and document electronically, it can be used in online transactions like e-filing of ITR, e-tenders, etc. A DSC contains user’s information such as name, physical address, email address, country, date of issued certificate, etc. a DSC is associated with the owner’s identity with two keys-private key and public key. The private key is stored in the user’s computer hard disk or on an external memory device. The user retains control of the private key; it can only be used with the issued password to user and public key is diffused with the encrypted information. This means that encrypted data cannot be decrypted and therefore, is inaccessible to unauthorized parties.
