ESI Registration

Employee State Insurance is a social security and health insurance plan which has been created to provide social economic protection and medical care to worker populations and their dependents who are covered under scheme. It is applicable on entities employing 10 or more people.

It is Applicable on all employees who are earning INR 21,000 or less per month as wages, ESI Scheme is financed by contributions from employers (4.75%) and employees (1.75%),large network of dispensaries, and hospitals throughout the country are registered in ESI scheme for facilitating fast and efficient medical care.


Employee's State Insurance Corporation (ESI) is a self-contribution scheme with a kitty of medical and sickness benefits. Employees registered under the scheme can avail medical facilities for self and there dependents.

ESI return needs to be filed monthly and also any changes in a year needs to be shown in annual return.

In every six month, return of contributions along with copy of all ESI contributions made during that period need to be submitted.

17 Digit Unique Code is allotted to every organisation on successful ESI registration.

Organization to maintain these registers- Attendance, Wages, Form 6, Accident, Inspection Book, File of all challans paid & returns submitted.

ESI registration in India is required when employee count is 10 or more than 10 in any entity.

Electricity Bill (Not older than 2 months)
